Kaitlyn Cantwell

Kaitlyn Cantwell, LCPC

Kaitlyn Cantwell is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has worked in a variety of settings including group private practice, non-profit organizations, and Chicago Public Schools serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families with diverse backgrounds. Kaitlyn has experience and interest in working with a wide range of needs, including anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, parenting, life transitions, abuse, trauma, career exploration, and occupational stressors.

Kaitlyn recognizes that self-exploration can feel scary and difficult even when one knows it may be needed.  With this understanding, Kaitlyn approaches the therapeutic relationship as a cornerstone of treatment and a place where trust, safety, and acceptance are established to create growth and healing one is hoping to experience in their life.  Kaitlyn approaches therapy in a collaborative and client-centered manner utilizing mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches, tailoring style to the individual needs of the client. Kaitlyn believes one of the most important, and sometimes most difficult aspect of therapy, is working toward more fully embracing exactly where you are, starting from there, and moving forward authentically.

Kaitlyn received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Illinois State University and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology.
