Alison Thayer


Alison Thayer, LCPC, CEAP

Alison Thayer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Employee Assistance Professional who has worked with adults, adolescents, couples and families since 1997. She has worked in a multitude of settings ranging from corporate and academic environments to community mental health agencies. Alison offers a collaborative, goal-oriented approach while providing a supportive environment that empowers clients to make effective changes in their lives. She maintains an integrative style building upon the client's strengths, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy methods to help her clients achieve growth and tangible results. Her specialties include anxiety disorders, depression, relationship issues, occupational issues, life transition issues, work/life balance and substance abuse. She is skilled in corporate trainings, Critical Incident Stress Management services and management/supervisory consultation. Alison received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Alison is also the Director of Operations at UB and has provided clinical supervision to interns and therapists since 2000.

Anna Curran, LCSW

Anna Curran is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with ten years of experience in providing individual, family and group therapies within a variety of community settings. Anna works with clients presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal struggles, perinatal mental health, parenting, aging, coping with various medical diagnoses, and life transitions. She believes in whole person health, mindfulness and balance, striving to aid clients in living an overall healthy lifestyle. Anna uses a bio-psychosocial approach and works collaboratively with her clients to meet their own unique needs and goals. She maintains foundation in a strengths based approach and focuses on being a client-centered clinician. Anna believes in the importance of meeting clients where they are at and has found this to be beneficial and productive in her clinical work. Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has been  in the field of mental health since 2011. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Elizabeth is passionate about the therapeutic relationship. She feels this bond can impact and enhance change in the client's life. Elizabeth is clinically interested and experienced with trauma, women’s issues, sex, relationships (non-monogamous and monogamous), kink & BDSM, gender identity, sexual identity, and peri/prenatal issues. Elizabeth enjoys working with adults and adolescents in individual, relationship, and family sessions. She is interested in assisting those who are exploring their self-identity and struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and familial concerns. Elizabeth uses an integrative approach to ensure the needs of the clients are appropriately addressed, while incorporating cultural considerations. Elizabeth is grounded in feminist and systems theories. Elizabeth is a kink and LGBTQ affirmative therapist. Elizabeth is working towards her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Adler University. She is vigorously researching, writing, and developing further presentations regarding her clinical passions. Elizabeth is also working towards her certification in sex therapy.

Anjali Lyons, LCSW

Anjali Lyons is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in practice working with adults and adolescents since receiving her Master's degree at The University of Chicago in 2004. Anjali has gained experience with individuals and families in private practice, as well as psychiatric and academic hospital settings in Chicago and overseas. Dr. Kristen Dunnett is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University. She enjoys working with a blend of children, adolescents, and adults, having over 7 years of experience providing individual, couples and family therapy. Kristen’s areas of interest include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, ADHD, and families in transition all with an emphasis on Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. Kristen believes that our thoughts have a deep connection to how we feel and interpret our environment. Through providing individualized, evidence-based interventions, Kristen works collaboratively with clients to explore those connections and identify insights into a more mindfully-connected, fulfilling way of living.
