Elizabeth Cerven is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has been  in the field of mental health since 2011. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. You can read her full bio here!

What self-care techniques or activities do you do?

I run, do yoga, lift weights, walk and play with my dog, practice meditation, listen and dance to music, and spend time with loved ones. 

What made you become a therapist?

I have a very strong curiosity about people.

What are your specialties?

Relationship styles and issues, sex, sexuality, and gender identity. 

Why do you believe that counseling can help?

I believe people are resilient and capable of great things. When someone is willing to stretch outside their comfort zone, explore themselves, and trust in the guidance of others, incredible change can occur. I have seen it!

Did you have a career before becoming a therapist?

I was a High School Special Education Teacher. 

Why is it important to seek counseling?

Sometimes we all need help.
