Exercise, travel, reading, and movies.
What made you become a therapist?
I have an interest in people, making a connection with them, and finding a place to work together on their goals — I really enjoy this process.
What are your specialties?
Treating depression, anxiety, life transitions, loss and grief, trauma. Individual, couples and family therapy. I am bilingual in Spanish and have experience with cultural issues.
Did you have a career before becoming a therapist?
No. My career has always been clinical social work.
Why do you believe that counseling can help?
A counselor/therapist is a trained individual who can assess and provide treatment in an objective way. It can be helpful to feel that someone is concerned and understands what the person is experiencing. There can be a partnership in working to improve the circumstances that brought the person into treatment.
Why is it important to seek counseling?
It is important to seek help before a situation worsens. Counseling can provide ideas, constructive options and support for dealing with stressful situations.
